Heritage Management

OzArk has wide experience with the development of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Plans and Historic Heritage Management Plans that enable a landowner to appropriately manage the heritage items or places on their property. These documents, often a condition of consent for state significant developments or infrastructure, are statutory instruments that provide the framework of how heritage is managed for a particular project.

For significant historic heritage places, OzArk also has experience in the development of Conservation Management Plans that identify management polices to allow a building or place to be used while protecting the significant heritage values of the place.

OzArk is also involved with site monitoring work where archaeological sites are routinely inspected to ensure that natural and artificial impacts are being appropriately managed. In addition, OzArk has undertaken many archival recording programs for buildings or places ahead of an approved change so that a historical record is maintained.

As part of heritage management is the need to sometimes salvage archaeological sites, either through archival recording, a collection of Aboriginal artefacts on the surface, or through archaeological excavation. OzArk has wide experience in this aspect of site management and will ensure that any conditions of consent or approved permits are rigorously followed.
