Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation Requirements (ACHCRs)
OzArk values its role in ensuring that all aspects of the ACHCRs, as defined by legislation, meets the needs of the Aboriginal community, government agencies and our client.
OzArk has a specialist team of staff who deliver the community consultation process in conjunction with our experienced archaeologists. We ensure that all identified Aboriginal parties are informed of the project, provided with information on the proposed assessment methodology and fieldwork, and provided copies of the draft report and recommendations for comment. Importantly, the ACHCRs are also one of the methods used to understand the cultural values of a project area. Once finalised, this information can be used to produce management plans or apply for an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit (AHIP).
Input from the Aboriginal community is vital to meet our increasing standards in ensuring that Aboriginal sites and culture are valued and recognised.
